Every dictatorship, every corrupt system that clings to power, follows the exact same playbook—same pattern, same old strategies, repeated over and over again throughout history. Their number one rule to stay in control? Limit the information that reaches the public. They hide the truth, twist facts, silence voices, and suppress anything and everything that might make the people open their eyes, see what is really happening, and wake up enough to revolt against abuse. They know this secret well: a people kept in the dark can never fight for their rights.
Look back at the mighty Roman Empire. To keep the masses docile, obedient, and blind to how power was being stolen from them, they gave them Bread and Butter to fill their stomachs, and built the grand Colosseum as a stage for endless entertainment—games, fights, spectacles, and noise to keep everyone distracted, satisfied, and too busy or entertained to ever question who ruled them, or how much was being taken from them.
Tell me: does this not look exactly like what we are living through right now? Our current system is nothing but a copycat of that very same Roman Empire. We are fed empty promises, temporary relief, and endless distractions—noise, drama, and entertainment that keeps us occupied, while the real work of serving the people is forgotten, and power is hoarded by the few.
And history repeats itself even more painfully. Just like how Julius Caesar was betrayed and stabbed to death by his own senators—men he trusted, men who were part of his own circle, men who owed their positions to him—we see the same betrayal today. Leaders we elect, leaders we trust, leaders who swore an oath to serve the people, turn their backs on us, and stab the nation in the back just to stay in power, keep their privileges, and protect their own interests.
This is the pattern. It is a cycle that has repeated for centuries, generation after generation, simply because people believed it could never be changed. People thought this is just “how things are,” that we have no choice but to accept abuse, betrayal, and control as our fate.
But then came a man who proved them all wrong. 𝗣𝗥𝗥𝗗 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲. He broke every rule of that old, rotten playbook. He proved that the system can be challenged, that the powerful can be held accountable, that we can put the interest of ordinary Filipinos above the interest of the elite and corrupt few. He proved that change is not just a dream—it is possible, it is real, and it is within our reach.
What he started was not just a term in office, or a list of projects. It was a movement. It was the first crack in a cycle that had held us back for so long.
And now, that duty belongs to us. It is now our sacred duty as Filipinos to continue what he has started. To refuse to be controlled, to refuse to be distracted, to refuse to let history repeat itself again. We have seen that change is possible—now it is our turn to protect it, to carry it forward, and to finally put a full end to this pattern of abuse, betrayal, and control once and for all.
We are the ones who will write the next chapter of our history. Let us make it one we will be proud to leave to our children. 🇵🇭
