Salahuddin Ayyubi, also known as Saladin, was one of the most prominent military leaders and statesmen of the medieval era. Born in Tikrit, Iraq in 1137, Salahuddin rose to prominence as the founder of the Ayyubid dynasty, which ruled over a vast territory spanning across the Middle East and North Africa. He is best known for his military campaigns against the Crusaders, which earned him a reputation as a chivalrous and formidable commander.
