A stone cutter can strike the same stone a hundred times and apparently nothing happens.
No crack.
No visible change.
No breakthrough.
Then, on the 101st strike, the stone suddenly breaks.
Was it the 101st hammer blow that did it?
No.
It was every blow that came before it.
That is how we see what we are building with PAMANA.
We know there will be skeptics.
We know there will be pessimists.
We know there will be people who will say:
"It will never work."
"Filipinos will never cooperate."
"Someone will steal the money."
"It's too ambitious."
"I've heard promises like this before."
And perhaps some of those questions are legitimate.
So ask them. Challenge us. Examine the numbers. Examine the system. Examine the governance. Demand transparency.
We are not asking anyone to believe blindly.
We are asking people to look before they judge.
Our answer to poverty cannot always be another promise.
Our answer cannot simply be waiting for someone else to rescue us.
And our future cannot depend entirely on complaining about the problems while refusing to experiment with solutions.
We are trying to build an alternative based on something very simple:
People cooperating instead of competing against one another.
Ownership instead of permanent dependence.
Skills instead of helplessness.
Production instead of merely consumption.
Community instead of isolation.
Will it be difficult?
Absolutely.
Will we make mistakes?
Certainly.
Will people criticize us?
Without doubt.
But criticism will not stop the hammer.
Because we are not trying to convince everybody.
We are looking for the first few people willing to build.
One family.
One cooperative.
One productive enterprise.
One community.
Then another.
And another.
Until what seemed impossible becomes visible.
To the pessimists and the naysayers, we say:
You don't have to believe in our dream.
But please don't tell the people who are willing to try that they are foolish for hoping.
Let us build it.
Let the results speak.
And if the stone does not break after the first hundred blowsโ
we will keep hammering.
Because sometimes the difference between an impossible dream and a living reality is simply this:
Someone refused to stop striking the stone.
