In a breathtaking feat of archaeology and engineering, Egypt transported King Khufu’s 4,500-year-old solar boat to the Grand Egyptian Museum. Discovered near the Great Pyramid of Giza, this massive wooden vessel was believed to carry the Pharaoh’s soul across the heavens, guiding him on his journey to eternity.

The relocation took nearly 10 hours, employing a specially designed remote-controlled vehicle to prevent vibration or damage to the fragile timbers. This meticulous operation showcased a seamless blend of modern technology and reverence for ancient craftsmanship.

Now on display, the solar boat remains one of the oldest and best-preserved wooden artifacts in existence. It continues to tell the story of Egyptian spirituality, extraordinary artisanship, and the civilization’s enduring connection between the earthly and the divine.
