"The social system in the Philippines is feudal: one for the lords, one for the rest. The middle-class is supposed to be the one breaking this system. But until the Filipino middle-class let go of their desires of being lords themselves, it won't change. In other words, until the middle-class gain a social and not sosyal mindset, it will just be recreating the same system."

Living in Germany for nearly three decades has allowed me to witness firsthand the benefits of a well-developed social system, comprehensive healthcare, and a strong focus on education. The Germans have managed to rebuild and thrive after the devastation of war by prioritizing these essential aspects of society. Their unity and long-term planning have set them on a path towards a brighter future for all their citizens.
Reflecting on my experiences abroad, I couldn't help but wonder why a similar model couldn't be applied in my home country. The Philippines, with its rich culture and potential, could greatly benefit from adopting a system that places emphasis on the well-being and development of its people.
Despite the challenges posed by the crab mentality prevalent in Filipino society, I remain optimistic about the possibility of instigating change. I firmly believe that with determination and a shared desire for progress, we can overcome any obstacles in our path.
This conviction led to the inception of our German Community projects in the Philippines. Through these initiatives, we aim to inspire and empower our fellow Filipinos to envision a future where access to quality healthcare, education, and social support is a fundamental right. By showcasing the success of the German model and fostering a sense of unity and purpose within our community, we strive to pave the way for a brighter future for all Filipinos. Together, we can ignite the spark of change and work towards creating a society that values the well-being and prosperity of its people above all else.
